ASEE Engineering K12 Center Advisory Board

Purpose

The K-12 Center Advisory Board serves to provide guidance, expert input, and networking resources to the ASEE K-12 Center Director and staff members.

Membership

Members include deans of engineering, faculty members in engineering and engineering technology, K-12 educators, and representatives of corporate stakeholders in K-12 engineering education. Deans of engineering comprise the Deans K-12 Task Force, with the Chair of the Task Force selected by the Chair of the Engineering Deans Council (EDC) and members selected from the EDC membership at large. Faculty members comprise the K-12 Headquarters Liaison Committee (HQLC), drawn from members of the ASEE K-12 and Pre-college Engineering Division and external K-12 education groups with an interest in K-12 engineering education. Corporate representatives come from organizations that sponsor or fund K-12 Center operations.

Activities

The Advisory Board meets once a year at the ASEE Annual Conference. Other activities during the year consist of emails, conference/individual telephone calls, and/or other modes of exchange, as appropriate. Members are invited to participate in ASEE K-12 activities to the extent appropriate and possible, given their own time and work constraints and interests.
